Nerja – 5 Things To Do In A City Break – LexSeries
Top

Such a beautiful place that has kept its traditional charm, with whitewashed houses🏠🏡, narrow streets and all the modern amenities you could wish for ❤

We had few days to visit this beautiful place, not because we planned it that way but because was near our home for a week in Spain.

1. BalcĂłn de Europa

How to find it easy? Well it is that beautiful viewpoint located in the center of Nerja! One of the most famous places in Andalusia. 🥂

``An idyllic place to take a panoramic photo of the Mediterranean Sea.``

Situated on a rocky promontory was formerly a fortress designed to keep out British pirates and privateers.

“Never Ending Footsteps”

In this beautiful trip I had 2 of my best girls with me, two women I admire, I love and I encourage and I want there with me for the rest of my life. So yes we are all for the “girl power” for the encouragement and support for positive words and good vibes only!

We meet this nice woman from Africa (right now I am so sorry but forgot the country) we chat for a few minutes, changing impressions, asked for a picture & bought some souvenirs to always remember this meeting, this and also to bring us good luck – the souvenir being an elephant with a horn up!

2. Cueva de Nerja

Nerja Caves, are one of Spain’s most popular and spectacular historical sites. The amazing Nerja Caves – Cuevas de Nerja – are a series of huge caverns stretching for almost five kilometres and it’s home to the world’s largest stalagmite -> a 32 metre high column measuring 13 metres by 7 metres at its base.

The Nerja Caves were officially inaugurated on June 12th 1960 and opened to the public.

3.Church of El Salvador

The Church of El Salvador along with the BalcĂłn de Europa plays a central part in many of the yearly events that take place in Nerja.

The church is a lovely island of serenity in center of Nerja and following renovation work in 1997 is well worth popping into to take a quick look.

During Weekend yo can expect to see some weddings and loud happy people!

4. Going To The Beach

High on everyone’s wish list when visiting Nerja is a well deserved visit to one of the many beautiful beaches.

Nerja boasts some of the best beaches in the Costa del Sol region. From the long expanses of sandy beaches found on to hidden cove-like beaches, Nerja has it all.

``From this one you can also see BalcĂłn de Europa from another angle.``

5. Enjoy The BEST Paella

When you are in Spain and you want to eat Paella well, you have options. I mean….you really have options and it’s even hard to choose from.

Our luck was to see this restaurant right near our parking entrance and decided to stay for a coffee…but fell in love with the Paella!

The Restaurant is Marisqueria Hermes and when it comes to Paella they have a 10 from our side!
